What is the J-1 visa?
Entering the United States for reasons other than tourism, regulated by the well-known ESTA program , can be a complex and lengthy procedure.
However, the U.S. Department of State offers several types of visas that, although requiring rather lengthy bureaucratic procedures, allow access to the country for specific purposes.
Among these, the J-1 visa represents a great opportunity for foreign students, offering them the chance to enter the United States for cultural exchange programs, professional training or temporary work experiences .

We at UlissExchange will give you the opportunity to choose the job that best suits your needs from the thousands of options available from the East Coast to the West Coast .
By doing so, you will be able to plan the income needed to finance all your pre-departure expenses and all your travels!
After your three-month internship, the J-1 visa gives you an additional month, known as the “Grace Period,” during which you can travel freely within the United States.
It will be the perfect opportunity to discover iconic places and make the trip you've always dreamed of, enriching your experience after a full immersion in American life and culture.

Why getting a J-1 visa can make a difference in your career?
Getting a J-1 will not only allow you to travel to the United States, but it will also catapult you into a world of many cultures: people from all over the world who are realizing your same dream. You will face daily experiences that will make you responsible, that will make you understand how the entire world revolves around us.
Now let's see together how to get it!
To obtain a J-1 visa, you must be sponsored by an organization authorized by the U.S. Department of State. At Ulisse Adventures, we are authorized to provide you with the sponsor you need!

Step by step, we will guide you through the visa approval process, which is divided into four phases .
1. SEVIS Fee
The SEVIS (Student and Exchange Visitor Information System) fee is a mandatory fee for students and participants in J-1 programs. It helps fund the visa monitoring system for cultural exchange and international students in the United States.
2. DS2019 MODULE
The DS2019 form is an official document required to apply for a J-1 visa. It is issued by the program sponsor and certifies your eligibility, the details of your cultural or work exchange, and the length of your stay in the United States.
3. DS160 MODULE
The DS160 form is a mandatory document for applying for a J-1 visa. It is filled out online and is used to provide personal information, details of the cultural exchange program and the reason for the trip. Once completed, it generates a confirmation with a barcode, which is necessary to book the interview at the American embassy.
4. INTERVIEW AT THE AMERICAN EMBASSY
The interview at the American Embassy is a mandatory meeting to obtain the J-1 visa. It serves to verify your documents, confirm your eligibility for the program and evaluate your motivations for traveling to the United States.
